Recreation

The local Recreation Board hosts many annual events:

  • They co-ordinate the Community Days held the third weekend in June.  This involves a bones tournament Saturday and a dance Saturday evening.
  • Bunnock tournament held in September  or October which includes a supper.
  • A cash dance late in November, attendees are eligible to win cash along with many other great prizes donated by various community and surrounding area businesses.
The Denzil Agricultural Society sponsors the Fall Fair and Trade Show every October.  There are many exhibits at the community hall. Lunch is available as well.
Occasionally throughout the year, the Denzil community will put on functions to encourage community interaction.  Some of these functions include a steak and lobster fest, an Octoberfest, St. Nick day and various other functions.

Pirates Diamonds

The ball diamond is located at the west side of town beside the elevators. They consist of two ball diamonds, a booth, race track, and outhouses. The diamonds are used for minor ball, baseball, softball and Community Days.

Denzil Park

Located on the south side of Denzil. The park is equipped with 20 full camping facilities and children’s playgrounds.

Denzil Arena

The arena has public skating in winter as well as 2 sheets of artificial curling ice.  There is usually a men’s and women’s bonspiel held each year with a windup bonspiel at the end of the curling season.

Denzil Community Hall

Trout Pond.

Located across the highway from Denzil is a trout pond.  The pond is stocked with rainbow trout.  It is open to the public both summer and winter.
